Overview
We were brought into RedBox Studios, Belfast to photograph the recording of Last Dance, a Belfast-produced dark fantasy audio drama from Blackabbey Productions. With Series 2 in production, we captured the core cast and wider recording environment, working across both the studio and control room.
Behind the Scenes
The photography focused on documenting the people and process behind the production — from cast members performing in the recording booth to the creative and technical work taking place in the control room.
Last Dance has built a strong profile within the audio drama world, with the wider series featuring notable guest performers including David Morrissey and James Mackenzie.
Recording an audio drama also presented a unique challenge for photography: silence was essential. We had to work around live recording sessions without creating distractions or affecting the audio, carefully choosing when and where to move and photograph.
The resulting images give the production a visual record of Series 2, its core cast and the recording process, while providing authentic behind-the-scenes content that can be used to showcase the work taking place at the heart of the production.
