Farmers Choir Northern Ireland – Young Farmers’ Clubs Arts Festival Showcase

Overview

Farmers Choir Northern Ireland engaged our team to provide photography and videography coverage of their Young Farmers’ Clubs Arts Festival Showcase. The event brought together three Young Farmers’ Clubs for an evening of live performances, creating a fast-paced production environment with multiple acts, changing stage layouts, dynamic lighting conditions, and a variety of performances taking place throughout the evening.

To ensure comprehensive coverage, we deployed a dedicated two-person photo and video team, allowing us to capture the event from multiple perspectives while maintaining consistent coverage across both photography and videography deliverables.

The objective was clear: create a visual record of the showcase, provide each participating club with high-quality content for their own promotion, and produce engaging video content that could be used across Farmers Choir Northern Ireland’s digital platforms.

The Brief

Live performance events present unique challenges. Every performance happens in real time, with no opportunity for retakes or second attempts. Key moments can occur without warning, whether that’s a performer stepping into a spotlight, a dramatic stage reveal, audience reactions, or special effects such as confetti launches that last only seconds.

Farmers Choir Northern Ireland required coverage that documented not only the performances themselves but also the atmosphere surrounding the event. This included stage performances, audience engagement, venue details, event branding, and the behind-the-scenes moments that help tell the complete story of the showcase.

Alongside photography, the client also required a social media highlight film and two filmed interviews, creating a package of content that could support both immediate event promotion and future marketing activity.

Our Approach

Given the scale of the event and the number of participating organisations, a two-person crew was essential to delivering comprehensive coverage.

Throughout the showcase, both operators remained in constant communication using professional communications headsets. This allowed us to coordinate positioning, monitor key moments, and ensure that important shots were captured from the most effective angles without duplication of effort. By working as a coordinated team rather than two independent operators, we were able to maximise coverage while maintaining a consistent visual style across all final deliverables.

The event itself featured a variety of technical challenges. Stage lighting changed frequently between performances, set layouts evolved throughout the evening, and performances ranged from intimate moments to large-scale productions involving effects and audience interaction. Our approach focused on anticipating these changes and positioning ourselves accordingly to capture both the planned highlights and the spontaneous moments that make live events memorable.

Photography coverage included a mixture of close-up performance imagery, wider stage perspectives, audience reactions, venue details, décor, and atmosphere shots. This combination ensured that the final gallery reflected not only what happened on stage, but also the experience of attending the event.

Particular attention was given to capturing moments that could not be recreated, including performance finales, stage effects, and confetti moments. These fleeting moments often become some of the most impactful images from a live event and required careful timing and coordination to capture successfully.

Photography Delivery

Following the event, approximately 500 edited images were delivered.

Rather than producing a small selection of highlights, the aim was to create a comprehensive content library that could serve multiple organisations. With three Young Farmers’ Clubs participating in the showcase, it was important that each club received a substantial collection of relevant imagery featuring their members, performances, and achievements.

This approach ensured that every participating organisation had access to enough high-quality content to support their own social media activity, marketing, and future promotional campaigns, while also providing Farmers Choir Northern Ireland with a large selection of images for their own communications.

To further streamline the process for the client, multiple versions of the imagery were supplied. Branded versions featuring Farmers Choir Northern Ireland’s logo were created for future promotional use, while clean, unbranded versions were also provided for distribution to the participating clubs.

Following delivery, a number of additional images that were not used by the client were published through our own social media channels, with all relevant organisations and participants tagged. This extended the reach of the event content while reducing the administrative workload associated with distributing and sharing imagery across multiple groups.

Videography

Alongside photography coverage, we produced a social media highlight film designed to showcase the energy, talent, and atmosphere of the event.

The final edit combined performance footage, audience reactions, venue details, and key moments from throughout the evening to create a concise and engaging piece of content suitable for social media platforms.

In addition, we produced two filmed interviews. To achieve a more polished and engaging final result, interviews were recorded using a two-camera setup, allowing for multiple angles and more dynamic editing. A wireless microphone system was also utilised to isolate the speaker’s voice and minimise background noise from the busy event environment, ensuring clear and consistent audio quality throughout.

The Outcome

The project delivered a complete visual package that documented the event from every angle. Through the combination of coordinated photography and videography coverage, Farmers Choir Northern Ireland received a versatile library of content capable of supporting immediate event promotion as well as future marketing campaigns.

By deploying a dedicated two-person team, maintaining constant communication throughout the event, and adapting to the challenges of a live performance environment, we were able to capture both the planned highlights and the unrepeatable moments that defined the evening.

The result was a comprehensive collection of imagery and video content that not only showcased the performances themselves, but also reflected the scale, atmosphere, and success of the Young Farmers’ Clubs Arts Festival Showcase.
